Important dates regarding the August 13, 2024 Primary Election
To vote in a primary in the state of Connecticut you must be registered in that party to vote. Some dates to note:
May 13: Mail-In and Online Deadline for enrolled party members to transfer enrollmentfrom one party to the other, for voting in their “new” party primary.
August 2: Deadline for unaffiliated voters who want to vote during early voting period to enroll in a party
August 5-11: Early Voting will be held in the Mary Ellen Brown Senior/Community Center from 10am -6pm 8/5, 8/7, 8/9, 8/10, 8/11 AND 8am-8pm on 8/6 & 8/8 for the August 13 Primary. Election Day hours on 8/13/2024 will be as usual 6am to 8pm in the Mary Ellen Brown Senior/Community Center.
August 12 by 12:00pm: Deadline for registering in person with the registrar of voters or town clerk in your town of residence to vote on August 13. Deadline for unaffiliated voters to enroll in a party in person for voting on to vote on August 13.There is NO Same Day Registration on the day of the primary.
