ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATIONS FOR 2024 PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY NOW AVAILABLE

Absentee ballot applications are available ONLINE and at the Town Clerk’s Office, 9 Center Street, to qualified voters unable to vote on voting day for the following reasons:

  • Are you an active member of the armed forces of the United States?
  • Will you be out of town on Election Day?
  • Does sickness prevent you from voting in person on Election Day?
  • Do your religious beliefs prevent you from performing secular activities like voting on Election Day?
  • Will you be performing duties as an election official at a polling place other than your own on Election Day?
  • Does a physical disability prevent you from voting in person on election day?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you are eligible to vote absentee.

How to Apply for an Absentee Ballot

Apply online using the Secretary of State’s website to request that your absentee ballot be mailed to you  https://oabr-sots.ct.gov/OABR/absenteeBallotReqPortalHome.do. Once you submit your request online it is automatically sent to the Town Clerk’s Office and we will mail your ballot as requested.

Pick up your application from the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall or download the application  https://portal.ct.gov/SOTS/Election-Services/Voter-Information/Absentee-Voting

Once your application has been received by the Town Clerk a ballot will be mailed to the qualified voter.

Returning Your Ballot

  • Complete and return your ballot as soon as possible.
  • Drop your completed ballot in the Official Ballot Drop Box located outside of the Town Hall, by mail or in person.
