TOWN OF EAST GRANBY

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING MINUTES

November 7, 2018

 

          A Special Town Meeting of the electors and those qualified to vote at town meetings of the Town of East Granby, Connecticut was held in the East Granby Town Hall Meeting Room on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 7:30pm.

James M. Hayden, First Selectman, called the meeting to order and the Town Clerk read the warning.

Brad Wolfe was elected Moderator of the meeting.

The Moderator explained that only those registered voters in the Town of East Granby and any citizen 18 years or older who is liable to the town for taxes assessed against him/her either jointly or severally, based on an assessment of not less than $1,000 on the last completed grand list of the town, are entitled to vote at this meeting

Motion was made and seconded to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the Special Town Meeting held on October 2, 2018.  Motion carried.

Motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes of the Special Town Meeting held on October 2, 2018 as prepared by the Town Clerk.  Motion carried.

Motion was made by Bob Paskiewicz and seconded to adopt the following RESOLUTION:  BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that a sum not to exceed $77,000 from the Capital Fund for the Middle School/High School HVAC Expansion with any unexpended funds to be returned to the Capital Fund as recommended by the Boards of Education and Finance.  Motion carried.

Motion was made by John Welsh and seconded to adopt the following RESOLUTION:  BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that a sum not to exceed $23,722 from the Capital Fund for the Middle School/High School Fire Alarm System Replacement with any unexpended funds to be returned to the Capital Fund as recommended by the Boards of Education and Finance.  Motion carried.

Motion was made by Sharon Shepherd and seconded to adopt the following RESOLUTION:  BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that a sum not to exceed $17,500 from the Capital Fund for the Allgrove Fuel Tank Removal with any unexpended funds to be returned to the Capital Fund as recommended by the Boards of Education and Finance.  Motion carried.

Motion was made by Amanda Thompson and seconded to adopt the following RESOLUTION:  BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that a sum not to exceed $7,500 from the Capital Fund for the Allgrove Hot Water Heater Gas Conversion with any unexpended funds to be returned to the Capital Fund as recommended by the Boards of Education and Finance.  Motion carried.

Motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting.   Motion carried.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:45pm.
