The Town of East Granby is looking for a Full-Time energetic and dependable person to perform custodial services in the Town Buildings. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities.
$21/hr. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Conduct detailed floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing to maintain a professional appearance.
- Handle janitorial responsibilities including trash removal, restocking supplies, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly.
- Operate custodial equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Performs all routine maintenance of buildings and grounds including routine mowing, snow and ice removal, planting, clean-up of grounds, and regular cleaning of interiors and minor repairs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in custodial work or janitorial services within commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor care procedures like buffing and polishing.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks and minor repairs
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks, lift heavy objects when necessary, and stand for extended periods.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues clearly.
